Free Accounting Software Forum - How do I record a payment for superannuation
I note that when an employee is paid the superannuation is calculated and recorded against the Liability Tax: Superannuation, but I can't find a way to record my payment against this account? Please advise.

Hi Julie,
You need to do a cash payment. Select the tax code "Employer superannuation payable" and make sure the tax amount is 100%. Select the account "employer superannuation expense".
This works because the tax amount goes to the "tax code" which is the super payable and the net amount goes to the account. The net amount in this case is zero.
You may need to change your set up for the employer super payable tax code to make the tax percentage rate 100%.

Glen
